More content in reports

INSIKT has long provided the ability to create multiple tabs in reports, allowing users to package a large amount of data in an easily accessible format. With the increasing number of data sources, dividing information into tabs is an effective way to organize it, giving users one or a few reports that contain exactly what they need at any given moment.

New in INSIKT 13 is the ability to add more information than can fit on the screen. As a report creator, you can easily fill in content downwards and create a layout that allows the user to scroll down into the report content.

If all the information you want does not fit in the "Sales" tab, then just continue down the screen instead of dividing into two tabs.

Do you want to create a story where the user follows along in your description and interpretation, why not create a report that behaves like a web page and mixes text and visualizations?

Endless possibilities in Planning & Projekt

INSIKT has always been good at managing number-based inputs and calculations that are delegated to a responsible person, and then aggregated into a company total that we can then follow up. What if INSIKT was just as good at other more register-like entries and processes?

INSIKT 13 enables processes in INSIKT that support the business, a bit more like a business management system than a BI system. These features started to emerge during the last year and is now taken to new heights in INSIKT 13. In the product, this means new possibilities to create solutions tailored to your needs. The solutions can be used for a lot of different things in all types of industries.

Some examples of applications:

  • Managing changes in construction projects incl. basis, notification and collaboration with the client
  • Create a basis for invoices
  • Complement booked data with an additional categorizing dimension part
  • Control and manually adjust Machine Learning-automated categorizations of bank transactions
  • Managing risks & opportunities
  • Rent simulation
  • Resource planning

 

Better overview over, and collaboration in, planning processes

The Overview tab has been removed and is instead part of the first Info tab depending on whether the context is a single planning process or an overview of multiple processes, departments or cost centers. This makes it easier and more efficient get an overview of the status of all underlying planning processes.

Comments, messages and documents are easier and more visible than ever before. Communication on lower organizational levels can easily be summarized to the top level. You can also quickly get a summary of your approval responsibilities and summary comments from each budget planner.

 

Improvements in register inputs

We have made the register entry even more powerful and smooth! With the latest updates, you get a better overview, more flexibility and easier management of your data.

  • Summary row – Get full control over your numbers! With the new summary row, you can quickly see totals and summaries directly in the table.
  • Display views – You can now have customized views! Group rows by properties for a clearer and more structured overview. Perfect for working more focused and efficient.
  • More flexible management of column widths – These can now be adapted to your needs! Greater possibilities to customize column widths and headings to create a workspace that suits you best.

Sort & filter on project information

Sortera & filtrera på projektinformationIt is now possible to sort and filter on project information metrics in project reports. For example, you can sort on the end date of the projects, or filter out the projects that are of a certain project type and have an end date within the next six months. You can sort on all types of project metrics, i.e. project properties, indicators (according to the status of the indicator in each project), and the project process (how far each process has reached).

More space in tabs in Planning and Projects

To create even more possibilities in Planning and Projects, it is now possible to add more content than can fit on one screen. The tab then becomes vertically scrollable and more content is displayed when the user scrolls down the tab.

This enables more related content to fit in the same tab instead of having to be separated into two separate tabs. In the next version, this will take further steps and, among other things, also reach Analysis and the reports you can create yourself.

Several tabs together with more content in each tab create great opportunities for gathering more information in one and the same coherent process.

 

Custom exports

INSIKT has many different export options in the form of, for example, PDF and Excel. New in 12.6 is the possibility to create more customized exports of documents that need to look in a purpose-specific way.  

The new function can be used for many different exports. An example is the export of ÄTA notifications in construction projects intended to be sent to a client. Your INSIKT consultant will help you design the export and link it to the right place in the product.

 

Download multiple invoice images at the same time

You can now download several invoice images at the same time. This only works if the invoicing system supports sending PDF files.

This can, for example, be used in connection with the project module and the ÄTA notification scenario described above.

Export business plan and follow-up in INSIKT Scorecard to documents

Extract a summary of goals, measures and activities into a Word document. This can be used either in the planning stage to summarize the plan for the period or to take out a summary of what we have actually done and how we have succeeded. The goal structure from INSIKT becomes heading levels in the document and linked measures and activities are listed in tables under each target. Since before, Excel export is available to extract all activities in a table.

In the activity tab in INSIKT Scorecard, we can now sort by last changed so that we, quickly and easily, can see which activities have recently changed.

Expand or minimize all objects in the plan tab 

It is now possible to expand and minimize both all objects in the plane tab with buttons in the overhead panel and to be able to expand or minimize underlying objects through right-click o menu on individual objects.

Different organizational structures in scorecard models

Scorecard models in INSIKT Scorecard can be used for different purposes. Maybe a regular scorecard model has the usual organizational structure, while a sustainability planning only plans at the company level and does not go down to departments, and maybe, an ESRD reporting has a completely different breakdown. Each scorecard model in Scorecard can now have a separate organizational structure. This creates new opportunities for building control models and distributing responsibilities.

Integrate INSIKT Project with Microsoft Teams

INSIKT Project introduces collaboration with Microsoft Teams. The new SharePoint integration provides the opportunity to connect an individual project to a team in MS Teams. Each project team can use this to keep their communication within the team through messages and documents in MS Teams. If there is a document needed in INSIKT, you can easily import that document from SharePoint. It also works the other way around. If the project team has uploaded an important document in INSIKT, it automatically ends up among the files in MS Teams so that all documents are collected.

Integrate INSIKT Project with Microsoft Teams

INSIKT Project introduces collaboration with Microsoft Teams. The new SharePoint integration provides the opportunity to connect an individual project to a team in MS Teams. User tagging in Analysis

As previously promised, it should be possible to tag people in all modules. 12.3 made it possible in Planning and Projects. In 12.5 we take the tagging to the remaining module Analysis. It will be possible in both text reports and cell comments.

Clearer and easier to read colors and icons 

White text and graphics have been changed to black on a colored background whose color has also been adjusted. This is to fulfill WCAG's (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) contrast requirement between text and graphics and its background.

Aggregation of comments in Planning and Project

In an input view, regardless of whether it is a budget, forecast, project estimate or something else entirely, numbers are keyed in linked to a number of dimensions or code parts. Numbers naturally aggregate upward to summation levels in, for example, organization, results statement and some other dimension.  

At the same time as we key in numbers, we often comment on our amounts to document how we thought or to ask a colleague about something. INSIKT shows comments from underlying levels so that we can see not only the sum of the numbers, but also the comments linked to the details below the summary level we are looking at. How comments are "aggregated" upwards in the structures has been improved in INSIKT 12.5. 

In the image below, we can see that three comments from different product groups have been aggregated upwards to account 3052. We can also see that one of them is set to Vårkampanj even though we have selected All Campaigns in the Campaign extra dimension. The comments are visible even if we choose to hide the underlying ones on that account.

Large improvements in the plug-in module and other inputs

Entry of lists of objects is used in several of INSIKT's modules. It is used, for example, to maintain records in the Plug-in module, to maintain personnel in a salary budget, to work with ÄTA in construction projects and many other applications.

This functionality is heavily updated in 12.4, which provides completely new possibilities. An example of an application is ÄTA in construction projects that can achieve a much simpler user experience.

Among the news are the following:

  • Ability to enter and edit an item directly in the table view. You can still change the items in the popup view.
  • Better handling of column widths so that the right column gets the right space.
  • Documents and comments can be attached to an object just as is possible elsewhere in INSIKT. The ability to attach documents and comments is activated by the consultant.
  • The beloved "View details" function, which is recognizable from other parts of Analysis, Planning and Projects, is now also available here. What it shows is configured by the consultant.
  • The list of objects can be divided into two levels so that an object can have its own sub-objects. In the example image above, it is an ÄTA that can be broken down into one or more ÄTA-rows. Another example is a register of properties where each property has one or more buildings.

Further improvements in this area will come in future INSIKT versions.

 

Multi-Tab Report Export “As It Appears on Screen”

Previously, export "As on screen" only exported the current tab in the report to PDF. You now have the option to export all tabs in the report to one page each in a PDF.

Fonts in diagrams and exports

The optional fonts Manrope and OpenSans have been removed and replaced with Verdana in reports (tables and charts) as it facilitates the same appearance on screen as in exports to Excel and PDF. Verdana has long been the default font in tabular reports.

 

Notifications

Notifications were launched in INSIKT Scorecard in 12.2 and are now being carried over to large parts of the product including Planning and Project.

Tagging

While writing a comment, you can add an “@” sign and INSIKT will help you find the right users to add to the comment. Then INSIKT will send a notification to that person.

Improvements in Scorecard

INSIKT Scorecard gets better everyday. Some examples of new improvements can be seen in access rights, filter activities and measures based on goals as well as better ways to write descriptions for goals.

 

Notifications

Starting off in Scorecard, there is now a notification center in which users can find notifications related to different events around the product. Such as comments made on an activity you are responsible for or if someone tagged you in a comment.

This will be made available for all modules in upcoming versions.


Modernized comments in Planning and Project.

Comments in Planning and Project have been completely revamped and now uses a more easy to use interface.  


New text editor

The text editor used for writing lists, attach images and more have been replaced with a new and improved editor. In the new editor, you can much easier edit tables, test links and tag users using the '@' sign. The new editor is now available in Scorecard but will be added to Project and Planning in the upcoming versions.


Custom color scheme

You can now create a custom color scheme to be used in tables and diagrams. 

Version admin

Creating and managing planning versions (budgets, forecasts etc.) has gotten a more easy to use interface. The new interface also enables more adaptability than earlier.

Aborting Heavy Report Loads

We've all been there... Accidentally clicking on the "heavy" report in the report tree, or selecting the All node in a large hierarchy and then refreshing the report. Then you get stuck in a large report load and can only navigate away from it when the report has been loaded. As of INSIKT 12.1, loading is interrupted if you change modules, select another report or otherwise navigate away from the report. The Refresh button is also changed to a Cancel button while reports are loading. If you click on this, the report loading will be interrupted.

"Remember me" when logging in

Now there is the option to remain logged in. On the login box there is a "Remember me" check box for this. Certain criteria in the environment must be met for this function to be displayed and there is an option to turn off the function in the administration page.

Norwegian

Good news for our neighbors in the west, now there is INSIGHT in Norwegian! As a user, you can change the language directly on the login page, or under "My profile". In a first stage, we have named the language selection (beta) to signal that the translation is still being evaluated.

Horizontaly stacked bar charts

Support for "horizontaly stacked bar" charts, works exactly the same as stacked bar, but in landscape format.

 

Date format based on browser

Användare får nu det sitt datum och tidformat beroende på vad deras webbläsare är satt till. T.ex. ifall webbläsaren är satt till Amerikanska inställningar så får kunden AM/PM (10 am / 7 pm) och även datumformatet månad/dag/år (12/30/2023)

 

Change order in Scorecard

In the plan tab of the Scorecard module, you can now change the order among all goals, measurements and activities.

To be able to change the order, one must either be a department manager, admin or responsible for the above target to which the objects are linked. When you are a department manager/admin, you can only change the order of the objects that are linked to your department or a department below the one you are responsible/admin for.

The new order is saved automatically and will apply to all users.

This is done by right-clicking or clicking on the meatball menu.

Limited measures

Now you can set a measure in the Scorecard module as limited. This means that all users will not be able to see the measure and its values. To be able to see the measure, the user must be linked in the "linked user organization" admin to the department in which the measure is located or to a superior department.


This limitation also applies if you have a transparent control model and if you have the measure as a report in the analysis module.
When a measure is limited, the outcome values ​​must be "per department". If they were set to "whole organization" before, a warning will appear and they will automatically change if you continue.

Synchronise SAML/SSO-certificate from metadata-URL

Using the "Synchronization Metadata URL" setting, you can specify the metadata URL. Then INSIKT will synchronize the certificate every night. In this way, you as a configurator avoid manually updating certificates when these are renewed by the Identity Provider.

Insikt 12.0 includes, among other things, a new graphic profile and a refreshed start page.

 

New graphic profile

In INSIKTK 12.0, our graphical profile has been adjusted. This means:

  • New main color in the top menu and logos.
  • The font in insight has been changed from Open-sans to Manrope.
  • New colors in the color palette, new column with new insight green as color scale has been added.
  • New logo throughout insight. The favicon has also been changed to an svg that changes color depending on which theme is running in the browser.
  • New design of module icons.
  • Higher contrast on graphics that have been darkened (text and icons).
  • Headings have become in semi-bold style.
  • Lists under headings have been removed.
  • INSIKT has got rounder corners and a different shade.
  • The selection panel in analysis is now white.

 

New home page

  • Module groups are displayed as cards with icons and descriptions.
  • Updated module admin interface where you can choose icons and set your own descriptions.
  • Left panel on the home page with:
    - Favorites tab with all favorites regardless of module
    - Recent tab with all recently visited reports/projects/planning

 

Transparent and limited mode in Målstyrning

In the målstyrningsmodulen it is possible to choose whether a control model should be limited or transparent. This is selected in admin for control models.

Transparent – In this mode, everyone who is a target control user can see everything connected to this control model. That is, goals, measurements and activities in all parts of the organization.

Limited – If a control model is limited, you must have a user-organization connection for this control model, which of course can be created in "connect user-organization" admin. Then you can see all the goals, measures and activities that exist in the department you are connected to as well as its superior and subordinate departments. If all control models are limited and you have not received any connection to any department, you will not be able to see the goal control module at all, even if you have authorization as a goal control user.

 

Faster and more modern navigation in INSIKT

INSIKT's architecture is modernized and improved on an ongoing basis. In this version, we have taken a big step and turned INSIKTK into a so-called Single Page Application (SPA), which makes page navigations faster and improves the user experience.

 

Periodization/comment icon on non-writable cells

Now the accrual is shown on all accounts/input lines that have an accrual in the cube, even accounts and grouping levels that are not writable. Previously, the periodization was only shown on writable lines. The exception is that the accrual is not shown on calculations, which is a limitation we made because calculations are often not written to show correct accrual.

The comment icon is also displayed on all lines, so you can comment everywhere. The comment icon also appears on calculations, unlike accruals

 

Zero line in chart

In graphs, the zero line on the y-axis will always be plotted. That is, there will always be a solid line that goes through 0 on the y-axis. If a graph has two y-axes with different scales, two zero lines are drawn.

 

Copy report/project links via right-click

  • Added/updated so you can copy links to reports when right-clicking. The same in the project, planning or goal management organization tree.
  • If you paste the link into a rich text environment (e.g. in an email), the link will be "nice" (eg:  Link to 1 Butik Umeå i INSIKT).
  • Otherwise it becomes a normal url link.

 

Relative selection - "First period next year"

Added a new predefined selection "First period next year" in Relative selection. Based on the selection made, the first month/week/day/etc for the next year is also selected.

 

New functions in cell summation

INSIKT-12-Sum

The sum when selecting several cells in a report has been expanded. It is now possible to click on the sum to copy it. If you hover over the sum, the average value and number of non-empty cells are also visible.
